What is ReGES next?

ReGES next is a scientific study. We are interested to find out how schoolchildren who came to Germany as children are doing. What are their experiences at school and in everyday life? We are interested to find out what might help the children to cope and what kinds of problems they are having. Learning – both in school and outside school – is a topic that particularly interests us.

Your son’s or daughter’s answers can help improve the situation for people from many different countries living in Germany.

This is why we are inviting your child to continue taking part in the study. It is the only way we can learn more about your child’s current situation.

How is the study conducted?

Your family will receive invitations for your child to take part in our online surveys at regular intervals. The questions are in German and it takes about 20 minutes to answer them.

What questions do we ask your child?

With the ReGES next study, we want to gain a comprehensive picture of your child’s current situation, regardless of what they are doing at the moment.

We want to learn as much as possible about your daughter’s or son’s everyday life. For example, we are interested in how well your child can speak or understand German. We would also like to know things like: How your child is doing in school? Is your child happy at school? What plans and hopes does your child have for the future? How does your child live? Who does your child spend time with outside school? What does your child think about politics?

All the information provided by your child is stored separately from names and contact details. This means that the people who work with this information later on have no way of knowing the answers your child gave.

Many thanks for your support!
